D:Scribe is a digital fountain pen that allows users to send SMS and email messages from paper. Just write out the message and circle the person’s name to send. This does away with a keypad and allows you to focus on communicating in a more personal way from anywhere as long as you have a bluetooth enabled phone and a surface to write on. The pen also records everything you write which can be accessed on a computer. iSAW Kokkugia

Kokkugia's iSaw is an algorithmic strategy that marries disparate programs in the redevelopment and hyper densification of Warsaw's urban center. This project plays with normative notions of figure ground and posits a programmatic topology which enables two divorced programs - such as a brothel and a monastery - to intertwine, and canoodle unaware of each others presence. Each is offered the opposite extreme of the same topology – two schizophrenically different characters in one topology. This can be thought of as a thickening of the walls, the willful penetration and subversion of one program, deep inside another.

Australian residential tower

The 35 storey tower takes its name from a waveform exterior designed to provide all residents with panoramic views of the ocean and area around Surfer’s Paradise. The building’s architect, the Gold Coast firm DBI Design, took their inspiration from the idea of ‘a ribbon caught in a stream, wrapping around a stick’.

LAMMHULTS

To find the source of Lammhults highly-respected quality, you need only travel 450 kilometers south of Stockholm to the village of Lammhult, in the heart of Sweden’s “kingdom of furniture”. There you will find the Lammhults factory, a modern 10,000 square meter facility that also houses the senior management, staff and operations center, along with a showroom display of every Lammhults product.

Within these factory walls, one hundred or so local craftspeople ply the trade of their birthright, bringing Lammhults products to life. Furniture making is an inherited skill in these parts and Lammhults proudly points to the successive generations of workers they employ. Lammhults dedication to quality is further demonstrated by their heavy investment in the tooling required to reproduce their famous designs in mass. Whie costly, this use of tooling ensures protection against copies, while also ensuring that labour costs remain a more manageable component of final product costs.
